We are seeking applications from experienced Supply & Distribution Project Lead to join our team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Alliance Contract and Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for determining and implementing the purchasing, storage, distribution and logistics for the project. This position is the interface between the Alliance and the Bombardier Procurement and Supply Chain organisation. Specific responsibility includes procurement of Bombardier’s scope, in particular procurement of Cityflo650 related equipment; including the coordination of international logistics, storage and distribution in accordance with project plan.

The position will also support the Project Manager with information regarding procurement related issues.

Your key responsibilities will include the following:

Work within the Alliance Project Core Team

- Support the Alliance Project Core Team through the establishment and management of the Procurement Project Plan, including the schedule of long lead items.
- Represent Bombardier’s Procurement and Supply Chain function within the Alliance Project Core Team
- Responsible for Cityflo650 related procurement within the Alliance in conjunction with Bombardier procurement function.
- Represent the procurement function for the Alliance and within project meetings such as production meetings, non-conformity meetings, Change Control Board meetings, Project Risk, Opportunity and Improvement meetings, Gate Reviews and claim review meetings
- Liaise with other functions across the project and customers concerning requirements for outward goods and associated forwarding transportation

Liaison with Bombardier’s Procurement function

- Manage Cityflo650 and other Bombardier material procurement with Bombardier’s Procurement and Supply Chain function.
- Monitor, record and review purchases, storage and distribution transactions related to the RSA Project

Manage CBTC Related Procurement

- Preparation and implementation of Doc 3 (schedule of order placement of long lead time items)
- Execution of the Procurement Project Plan
- Manage material EAC (estimated at completion) vs. budget on commodity and project level including potential risks and opportunities
- Ensure the provision of products and services to meet customer or client requirements received from Engineering Team are passed through
- Project progress reporting to core team
- Support Project Management in JDDP process, ensure supplier participation and integration
- Co-ordinate project related material cost reduction activities and harmonise with overall Project Improvement Plan.
- Co-ordinate free-issue equipment between Alliance partners
- Co-ordinate procurement and supplier related activities in testing and retrofit programs
- Co-ordinate change management of supply scope
- Monitor and improve supplier performance, particularly in respect to on time delivery, non-conformity and shortage reduction
- Co-ordinate supplier warranty issues pre & post delivery
- Ensure BT governance processes for procurement of goods and services are strictly followed
- Ensure suppliers are approved on BT supplier panel and audits are current

Safety and Environment Responsibilities

- Must not endanger their health and safety or that of others by their actions
- Shall wear Personal Protective Equipment as provided when required
- Shall comply with Divisional procedures and Statutory requirements
- Shall co-operate with Management for the reduction of risk
- Shall notify their superior of any unsafe plant, equipment, building structure or practice
- Shall report any accidents or incidents to their superior
- Shall not compromise the security and or operation of IT systems
- Ensure that staff under their control perform their duties in a safe manner in accordance with Divisional procedures and Statutory requirements
- Identify delegated responsibilities within the Group
- Investigate and report any accidents and incidents within their Group
- Communicate effectively, including briefing of staff


It is expected you will have the following qualifications, experience and personal characteristics:

- A tertiary qualification in a business or management related discipline
- Some further study in supply chain management or logistics would be well regarded
- Minimum 5 to 10 years procurement or supply chain experience
- Minimum 2 years team leadership
- Procurement experience in a major infrastructure project
- Procurement experience in complex, multi discipline projects with multiple partners
- An appreciation of Alliance or other collaborative contracting models
- Knowledge of basic financial management principles
