We are seeking applications from experienced Maintenance Superintendent to join our team in Wulkuraka, Queensland. Reporting to the Maintenance Operations Manager, the successful candidate will act as interface between the Maintenance Operations Manager and shop floor personnel. The Maintenance Superintendent will be the lead in terms of delivering the operation at the Wulkuraka Maintenance Centre.

The incumbent will provide leadership, coordination and supervision of the A&M service tasks carried out on the NGR fleet (Depot and Network) and Simulators and will have a well-developed understanding of the MU systems.

Your key responsibilities will include the following:

- Ensure high levels of Safety and Quality are upheld and that the whole team is aligned to this approach.
- Ensure Availability is achieved on a consistent basis.
- Provide supervision of the A&M Services staff in their area of employee related issues such as morale, housekeeping, attendance, punctuality, work ethic, holidays, work cover and discipline.
- Ensure the adequate provision of supervision to enable the appropriate and consistent application of the QESMS on a daily basis.
- Ensure workers, visitors and any other person under their control are provided with the necessary HSE consultation, information, instruction and training to carry out their roles and tasks.
- Be conversant with technical facets of the MU for fault finding debates both Electrical and Mechanical systems.
- Lead and schedule toolbox talks and safety committee meetings and action items.
- Ensure Asset Management principles are adhered to and maintenance information recorded to a high standard in Maximo.
- Implementing and maintaining operational initiatives.
- Organise and direct the service operations team IAW work instructions, check sheets, schedules and quality requirements.
- Coordinate plant, equipment and tools to meet services and facility requirements and availability.
- Delivering safe and reliable daily Train Services according to the Train Plan.
- Monitor configuration management of the fleet for correctness.
- Ensuring Depot Asset availability with the Depot Asset Coordinator and supporting certain maintenance elements with the use of and sharing of resources.
- Build and maintain a positive team approach to safety culture, quality culture and adherence to QHSE processes and procedures.
- Provide the vision, expectations and training in order to build the requisite services team culture and capability.
- Monitor maintenance practices and the continuous improvement program with work instruction updates and development with the Training Coordinator.
- Work with the Mobilisation team and provide support in all relevant depot and outstation design reviews and discussions.
- Build a cohesive team with positive employee engagement and direction.
- Ensure compliance with the QESMS, all relevant safety, quality & environmental statutory and contractual requirements, relevant HSE Legislation and BTA requirements.
- Investigate and action any escalated workplace hazards, incident or near misses, escalating any issues that are unable to be resolved.
- Provide monthly reports to management on maintenance activities, team performance and customer issues.
- Mobilisation of the Technical teams including on-call staff for MU defect rectification.
- Fulfil any specific responsibilities as detailed in the QNGR QESMS.


It is expected you will have the following qualifications, experience and personal characteristics:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Demonstrate proven Supervisory experience in a rolling stock maintenance environment (at least 5 years), preferably in a Fleet Maintenance environment
- Demonstrable safety culture experience and approach to continuous improvement in terms of safety, quality and employee engagement
- Competent in forecasting and strategic planning with strong written and verbal communication skills in order to communicate with all levels within the Bombardier and Customer’s organisations.
- Strong business acumen

- Excellent problem solving skills with a calm, task oriented approach
