Description

Based in St Bruno, Quebec, you will work within a Product Family and lead the establishment and update of Product Engine Level 1 Schedule relating to complex and critical on-cycle project (relating to a bid and contract), or complex and critical off-cycle project related to Research and Development and capitalisation projects.

You will establish and update the Level 1 Schedule in accordance with Bombardier Transportation (BT) scheduling procedure, including leading the harmonization and integration of Level 2 schedules (with support from Product development Schedulers, PdS and planners from other divisions of Bombardier Transportation including ROQ) from all parties (functions and subdivisions) involved in the project.

You will need to challenge all inputs from all parties. You will also regularly track and report progress against the baseline schedule and continuously monitor risks and opportunities as well as proactively develops scenarios, mitigation or back-up plans required. You will produce schedule-related Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI) as required by the project.

You will support the Product development Manager and Product Family Planning and Performance Manager in discussions related to delays and/or improvements of the schedule. You will also support Product development Manager and communicates detailed schedule objectives or issues to suppliers or partners.

You will ensure consistency of project scope and schedule with the overall product development scope and schedule of the Product Family.

In your role you will:

- Be responsible for establishing and updating the Level 1 Schedule baseline based on common objectives within the project, accountable for the establishment and update of the related level 2 schedules;
- Be responsible for monitoring and reporting on schedule progress and deviations within all parties involved in the project;
- Be responsible for communicating the Level 1 Schedule, and changes thereto, to all parties involved in the project;
- Be responsible for regularly monitoring critical path(s) of the schedule to identify risks and opportunities and develop mitigation or recovery plans;
- Make any internal contacts, and in a consortium also external contacts, needed to perform the duties
- Leadership duties within the Bid and Project Core Team and Product Family;
- Lead meetings related to Project Schedule topics;
- Manage the effective communication to all parties of the Project Schedule and updates thereto;
- Ensure that schedule implications of changes dealt with the Change Control Board are made visible and clear prior to decisions to being presented to the Change Control Board;
- Ensure that the Bid and Project Controller is regularly updated with any and all Project Schedule assumptions, hypothesis, baseline, progress or delays to secure that implications to the EAC are monitored;
- Ensure that the Risk and Opportunity Manager is regularly updated with possible threats or opportunity derived from present or future deviations to the Project Schedule;
- Report to the PF Planning and Performance Manager application of the appropriate planning Standards (schedules, resource schedule, Work Breakdown Structure);
- Support the PF Planning and Performance Manager in ensuring consistency of the project scope and schedule Vs the overall Product Family product development scope and schedule;
- Set up the baseline project Level 1 plans.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate:

- You hold an Engineering or Business administration degree or management degree (considered as an asset);
- You have eight (8) years of experience in a relevant role;
- You have working experience either in Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Procurement, Bids, Sales, or Finance;
- You have practical experience of generating and maintaining schedules in Primavera P6 software;
- You possess international experience;
- You possess planning experience on projects of similar scale and proven track record (PMP);
- You own knowledge of Scheduling techniques;
- You own knowledge of Earned Value Techniques;
- You own knowledge of Critical Path Management Techniques;
- You own knowledge of System Engineering design methodology, including V&V/V cycle principles (considered as an asset);
- You have excellent English and French communication skills, both written and spoken.
