The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.
Global Oversight Role: - Overseeing the overall Corporation’s ITC efforts including supervising the European ITC Controllers’ efforts and providing guidance as needed. - Supporting the development and promoting compliance with the Corporation’s global ITC policies. - Performing/coordinating compliance audits at various operating facilities. North American Expert Role: - Development and implementation of regional ITC policies and procedures. - Responsible for the application and management of export permits/licenses and other export authorizations (US and Canada). - Supporting and coordinating the implementation of ITC policies and procedures with relevant internal teams and departments. - Interface with government agencies including for audits, enquiries and voluntary disclosures. - Elaborate classification methodologies for aircraft parts and technology. - Keep up to date with changes in regulations that may affect the Corporation’s import/export activities. - Provide support and training to the relevant internal teams and departments. - Manage external consultants supporting the Corporation’s ITC efforts within Canada and the US (ex: custom brokers, export control firms, etc.)
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in similar function. - Strong leadership skills. Experience as supervisor and reporting to Management is an asset. - Bachelor of Law, International Relations or Administration or the equivalent combination of education and experience; - Extensive knowledge of the EAR and ITAR regulations as well as the Canadian Export and Import Permits Act. - Extensive knowledge of the US and Canadian customs and excise control regulations, including Harmonized Tariff Schedules. - Ability to contribute to the development and implementation of global policies and procedures. - Optional favorable asset: knowledge of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), C-TPAT and/or CSA programs. - Skilled with computer systems, including the Office Suite and enterprise resource planning software (ERP). - Excellent relational skills and ability for teamwork. - Show judgment, analytical and have a critical sense. - Possess a high degree of autonomy and show initiative. - Able to supply a large volume of work. - Bilingual, English, French. - This position requires some travelling.
