The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES • Assembling and disassembling Nose and Main landing landing gear components for the Boeing 777 program and other military programs • Read drawings and models to complete the final assembly for shock struts, actuators and drag struts according to the process plans • Identifying proper and improper fits, alignments and condition of components. • Ability to preform acceptance test procedures (ATP) on various hydraulic components (shock struts and actuators) • Rework to close tolerances and touch-up parts, which are received from processing as required. • Rubber Stamp (serialization) to be performed when specified on parts prior to Final Shipping. • Size and perform bushing installation and face (machine) to manufacturing process plans • Seal bushings and paint sealant on all parts prior to Honing. • Identify opportunities for process improvements and create a Process Change Request. • Maintains lot traceability throughout process. • 5-S/Housekeeping responsibilities. • Adheres to all Company policies and procedures, including H&S requirements. • Other duties as assigned/required by schedule and workload. CORE COMPETENCIES: • Ability to understand, read, and follow instructions in the English language • Ability to interact with peers in a positive, professional and productive manner • Ability to perform machinists mechanic functions to a high level of quality SKILLS & ABILITIES: • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal in the English language; • Ability to interact with peers in a positive, professional and productive manner; • Must be able to read blueprints and hydraulic schemes that identify and explain the function of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components; • Proven problem solving skills and experience/Exposure to lean manufacturing; • Identifying non-conformances when assembling landing gear; • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License would be an asset or two years related experience; • Ability to use hand and machine Tools; • Self-motivated; • Able to work with little or no supervision; • The ability to work shifts when required.
QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or equivalent • AME/A&P license and or aerospace experience is preferred • At least 2 years experience assembling aerospace components
