In this role you will drive global engineering initiatives coming from global Engineering function within RCS Engineering while developing key capabilities such as Safety, System engineering and technical project management. You will drive footprint strategy and act as a deputy for RCS engineering Head when required. The ideal candidate will be someone with a proactive approach and a strong background within process, improvement management and leading others complemented by a track record of success.


- Development of engineering capability and competences to satisfy current and future business needs, (Competency & Capability mapping, assessment, learning / development etc. for key engineering roles).
Transform the capability of the engineering function, maximize the utilization of the engineering resource.

- Collaborate & Align Engineering strategic actions through implementation of KPIs & visualization through Balance score cards.

- Interface to global engineering function and regional engineering.

- Develop Framework for management, governance, reporting and tracking of improvement initiatives.

- Preparation of Engineering QOR presentations as requested by VP Engineering.

- Drive the footprint strategy to ensure that we continue to build up on our best cost sites

- Engineering make-or-buy, (Core/Non-core) analyses

- Engineering contractor, out-sourcing, off-shoring and footprint management.



Your qualifications include:

- Master’s Degree in engineering or equivalent, (software, hardware or system development).
- 10 years or more with Process and Improvement Management.
- 10 years or more in a leadership role or with leading others.
- Experience in Project Management.
- Experience in Financial controlling.
- Cultural awareness and working within a multinational team.
- Preferably experience in/of rail signalling processes, solutions, functionality and architecture of rail systems.
- Knowledge of applicable standards, regulations and Product management concepts.
