About the role:

The Customer Support Technician shall provide support for installation, test, commissioning, modifications, repairs, operation, and/or maintenance of equipment. Provide technical expertise and competency assessment to subcontractors, project team members and less experienced personnel. Responsible for troubleshooting of equipment and operating portable test equipment, testing devices and special tools towards execution of support activities. The Customer Support technician is responsible to execute all requested activities safely, with expected quality. The Customer Support technician shall ensure all information, equipment and parts are available and prepared, to ensure efficient execution.

Key responsibilities and challenges

• Performs a variety of assignments such as installation, test, operation and maintenance of equipment.

• Investigates the causes of electromechanical equipment/subsystem failures and develops alternate solutions

• Devises test procedures to evaluate system performance and performs failure analysis on parts to be returned for repair

• Designs test/investigation methods and test set-up

• Supports central control operation and recovery

• Ensures and respects HSE rules

• Reports immediately any deviation

• Document results of investigations and execution

Knowledge of the Business

• Typically holds a college or university degree or the equivalent work experience that provides knowledge and exposure to fundamental theories, principles and concepts

• Continues to grow through practical application of limited knowledge in own discipline within a team

Leadership – Management or Technical

• Works independently and is able to apply judgment in decision making

Problem Solving

• Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems; analyzes the information and makes judgments within established guidelines.

Area & Nature of Impact

• Has limited impact on own work team


Qualifications & Functional Knowledge

• Technician degree

• Senior technical Specialist with equivalent working experience and possible team lead responsibility
