Your main role will to be point of contact for Project Management, Procurement and Customer Support for all project and non-project related issues with legal background and / or connection (e.g. claims, VO´s, settlements, etc.).

A integrated part of this will be to handle multifaceted tasks relating to contract and claims management – from analysing contracts and contributing to negotiations.

Also you willI identify and follow up of (potential) claims towards Suppliers and Customer, and thereby also improve (contractual) documentation to protect BT´s interest

together with Procurement, Customer Support, PM, etc.

You will together with Procurement and Project Management, BT´s enforce and defend, contractual interests against Customers and Suppliers during the whole of a project life cycle,

including monitoring and assessment of changes and deviations, as well as defending, placing and enforcing claims.

It is also a vital part of you role to follow-up, lead and co-ordinate claims in accordance with the claim management process and complete those to a satisfactory result for BT.

Provide assistance with contractual correspondence and dispute resolution strategies for the respective projects (VO´s, Service sale, Claims, etc.).


- In the assigned site of RoQ, identify together with the project team (potential) claims against customers and / or suppliers and / or partners and lead or support in all new built, warranty and / or service projects all offensive / defensive claims and ensure timely closure of such at results beneficial to BT.

- Define, establish and implement the project commercial strategy towards the Customer, Joint Venture partners and Key Suppliers to increase profitability of projects.

- Ensure that contractual changes, involving the customer, consortium partner, and supplier are properly notified in accordance with the contract and the BT Change Management process (e.g. issuance of notification/ variation order).

- Enforce and defend, together with Procurement and Project Management, BT´s contractual interests against customer and supplier during the whole of a project life cycle, including monitoring and assessment of changes and deviations, as well as defenand enforcing claims.

- Review (service, new built, procurement) contracts to improve legal quality of such documents in order to reduce risk and / or increase probability of (potential) claims.

- Provide assistance and guidance regarding contractual correspondence and define and follow-up commercial & claim strategies for the respective projects.

- Control the amount of claimed money either claimed against BT (defensive claims) or against Supplier (offensive claims).

- Together with Procurement, Customer Support and Project Management take ownership of all commercial and contractual risks and opportunities.

- Support at the assigned site of RoQ all functions by providing legal knowledge.

- Support Principal Legal Counsel, RoQ, with (especially domestic) bids and claims raised by the Customer and under his/her supervision ensure compliance with BT policies, as well as contracting within obtained mandate.

- Support RoQ Principal Legal Counsel by topic (IPR, Transformation) with any legal issue or task that has a relation to the assigned site.

- Support Principal Contracts and Commercial, RoQ with any contracts or commercial issues under his / her supervision.

- Ensure close alignment with Principal Contracts and Commercial, RoQ, and contribute to target achievement (esp. claim results, training, reporting, etc.) by leading and performing any required activity in this context at the assigned site

Reporting & Presentation

- Ensure solid claim reporting (e.g. claim database or PPRS) of issues and keep up to date all relevant reporting files (Sharepoint, PPRS, Claim Management Databases, etc.).
- Ensure solid and transparent presentation of claims, to the respective (Site) Claim Review Board and provide founded guidance and recommendation for the way forward.

- Reporting of claims and there status to the local Management, as well as within RoQ in alignment with Principal Contracts and Commercial, RoQ.

- Organize and lead local commercial & claim identification & review meetings with Procurement, Customer Support and Project Management on a regular basis at the assigned site and reporting of critical topics to the respective Principal Legal Counsel and/or Principal Contracts and Commercial.

- Knowledge management and training.

Contribute to creating and / or keep up to date high quality training documentation.

Provide legal training to functions at assigned site.

Effectively communicate contractual awareness & key contractual obligation among project core team members by conducting regular contractual workshop,

Interfaces with Stakeholders

- Ensure professional and trustful relation, tight contact and synergy with all other departments and functions, especially Procurement, Project Management and Costumer Support, both at the assigned site and, as the case may require, beyond.

- Raise „Commercial & Claim awareness and competency“ in all functions at assigned site.


High level of communication and facilitation skills are required in order to provide high quality support to the entire business in the relevant assigned RoQ key account

being the first and single point of contact for all legal, or legal related, issue. Yuo also have a keen eye for spotting issues, hence proactively handling these in a timely manner.

- University degree in Business Law and/or Business Economics.

- 3-5 years of releavnt lawyer experience.

- Contracts interpretation, claim management and negotiation.
