Description du poste

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor oversees and manages the aircraft maintenance workload, resources and activities for an assigned work group or several work groups. The Production Supervisor administers & coordinates the activities of the assigned work group(s) in support of policies, goals and objectives established by the management team. The Production Supervisors are part of a joint leadership team committed to the development of business and to the support of each team member.

 

The Production Supervisor main duties and responsibilities are broken down as follows:

 

  • Plan, prepare & organize the daily/weekly work activities to ensure that schedule requirements are met;
  • Dispatch, delegate & prioritize work for his/her workgroup(s);
  • Solve problems & recommend solutions to improve the productivity & ensure that work is performed within the quoted timeframe;
  • Monitor the progress of the project and report any problems to his/her Superior that may affect the aircraft delivery;
  • Responsible to coordinate daily tasks and resolve any issues related to Quality, Engineering, Stores or any other Department to ensure follow-ups;
  • Responsible to coordinate external services (NDT, machining, etc.);
  • Ensure work performed meets or exceeds the required Quality & Company standards;
  • Ensure all policies & procedures are being respected and ensure follow-up on breech of policies & procedures;
  • Participate actively in the process of Continuous Improvement;
  • Manage the manpower requirements & recommend solutions to his/her Superior;
  • Review & approve labour exception & resolve any related issues;
  • Supervise the activities and provide technical guidance & training/coaching to the technicians;
  • Interact directly with the Customers Technical Representatives to ensure the aircraft delivery on time and the customer satisfaction;
  • Review & process administrative documents related to employees;
  • Effectively resolves conflict & takes appropriate action to prevent future occurrences;
  • Supervise employee’s general performance, attendance, etc. & ensure the necessary follow-ups in collaboration with his/her Superior;
  • Uses the skills, knowledge & information available from resources (policies, employees, supervisors, customers, etc.) to make effective decisions;
  • Accomplishes corporate objectives by facilitating the active participation of all team members & by implementing improvement initiatives;
  • Promotes corporate objectives by his/her leadership traits & approach;
  • Adopt leadership skills & ability to handle stressful situations: lead team by example of being flexible, cooperative & friendly;
  • Creates and nurtures a diverse work environment that promotes mutual respect;
  • Any other duties assigned by the immediate superior.

 

Compétences

  • You have a minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • You have a college diploma in aeronautical construction or equivalent;
  • You have manufacturing systems experience (CAR 561);
  • You have technical documentation experience (BAPS, RNC, BOI, editing book, etc.);
  • You have continuous improvement experience;
  • You have a customer orientation;
  • You are skilled at influencing and mobilizing your collaborators;
  • You are functional with the Microsoft Office Suite;
  • You have a good knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook);
  • You are fluent in English and French, both oral and written.
