The ACM Application System Specialist is responsible for providing support to Air Canada Maintenance (ACM) for IT applications used by the organization, specifically acting as a champion of TRAX.

  • Act as the first point of contact for issue resolution as it pertains to TRAX and other relevant IT applications
  • Provide mentoring / training for new employees or existing employees as is required
  • Primary interface with IT organization for 2nd level support for issue resolution and to initiate system modifications
  • Develop and design IT training material.
  • Document issues and business requirements for system modifications to be submitted to IT organization for evaluation and disposition
  • Participate in the testing of new releases and fixes delivered from TRAX (and other systems) and provide acceptance and sign-off for their business area
  • Revise and document system procedures as required in support of changes in the business area
  • Participate in the development of business cases in support IT initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Experience in performing in the role of a Business Analyst, specifically documenting business requirements
  • Possess strong user knowledge of TRAX and other relevant IT system in the business area
  • Strongly familiar with the processes and procedure for maintenance, engineering and supply chain in an airline with specific specialization aligning with the supported business unit
  • Highly developed PC skills: Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access, Visio, MS Project
  • Strong analytical/problem solving experience to deal with complex business problems
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with an aptitude to juggle priorities to meet strict deadlines.
  • Sense of initiative, self-discipline and proactive thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; must be a team player.
  • Proven ability to mentor and coach others
  • Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours, including week-ends as required.
